But I am not dead yet
Opening – The Wedding Day A young girl in a wedding gown sits on a chair surrounded by family members and relatives. At first sight, it may seem like a joyous occasion. The newlywed bride looks straight down with no hope in sight. Episode 1 – In Prison A lonely young woman in a prison uniform sits in a dark prison cell, where the only light reflected on her face is the light pouring in from the window. She looks straight ahead. Her gaze is full of fear and hope. A prison guard enters the prison cell, his cold shadow falling on the young woman. The verdict of the death penalty is read aloud, whereafter the guard leaves the prison cell. The young woman’s eyes are pleading for rescue, and without any words, with total silence, she looks straight ahead. Episode 2 – Rape In total darkness, we hear the scream of a young woman who wants to escape. A prison guard is groping the woman as he proclaims with a deep voice: “Virgins go to heaven!”. After the woman repeatedly says “no”, she screams out loudly, and we are met with total silence. The guard shoves the woman into her prison cell and turns on the lights. She drags herself up and manages to get on the bed, as she looks straight ahead. She pleads for rescue, even if only with her gaze. Episode 3 - Stoning Beneath monochrome rocks, a young woman’s half body is seen as four men are surrounding her and ready to throw stones on her body. The young woman is tired to the point that her eyelids are about to close. The reading of the verdict of stoning is read aloud by a mullah. The young woman who realizes that her body will be attacked with stones is gripped by fear and shock. She looks straight ahead. She is in total despair and in dire need of help. In the last sequences of the film, it is with these distressed looks straight ahead that the three young women sing the opera Adagio. In continuation, all the places where the women found themselves are left empty.
